Hello, I'm Shan

Hi, I’m Shannon, though most know me as Shan in the art world. I’m a self-taught realism artist specializing in graphite and ink, and I’ve been obsessed with drawing since I could hold a pencil.

I started my art business in 2019 at age 18, turning a lifelong passion into a full-time pursuit. Over the years, I’ve created hundreds of custom artworks, been featured in my local newspaper, exhibited at the Pretoria Art Museum as a Top 100 finalist in the Sasol New Signatures competition, and taught over 50 students through live workshops.

I had to teach myself through trial, error, and guesswork. My art journey has been lifelong! 

That’s why I created this course, so that you can have the exact and in depth ‘how to’s’ in professional realism art. 

My goal with this course is to teach what I wish I had when I was learning: a step-by-step breakdown of the drawing process, not just what to draw, but how to see, shade, and bring your art to life. 

I've developed a unique step by step method of applying different realism techniques, like shading, blending and highlighting, that focuses on creating a 3 dimensional drawing on a 2 dimensional surface.
